A new home!

I’m just sitting in the Towson Center on campus waiting for warm-up time to come for a marching band competition performance and can’t tell you how happy I am to be where I am today. I have had so many different opportunities. Some things, you stumble a touch and maybe regain your balance and some other things you plug right along as though you’ve done it every day. Moving to Maryland has been a stumble for me. It’s a place where you really have to have all sorts of acquired tastes; literally, from the foods you eat everyday to the way you drive to how you’re day runs. It’s completely different and a total culture shock for me, or it was last January when I moved here. It’s true everywhere when it comes to differences, but I notice a giant difference here. People are faster paced and don’t tend to slow down and enjoy the small things in life (some people). For the most part, the driving completely blows me away and I’ve had to step it up a lot to compete sometimes just to get one lane over on the beltway. It’s kind of sad that everyone always has to be first at everything. On the good side the food is phenomenal. PERIOD! I didn’t know I would ever love crabs or lobster as much as I do today. One giant positive to moving here is joining the Towson University marching band.

I’ve had such a blast. The marching band, specifically the atmosphere and the people, has helped me to stop stumbling all over the place. I do have to thank TJ immensely for getting me over here. It was hard some days to think of leaving the place I called home but this has been wonderful! =D I still love Indiana State University and always will. Now that I’m at Towson, I’m pluggin forward and seeing how far I can go. =D I can’t wait to see what the next several years has in store. Sorry for not writing recently. I’ve been so busy with marching band here at Towson and up in Pennsylvania as well as classes. Thanks though for reading when I do write. It may be gibberish sometime to some people but I do appreciate it. =)

Thank you.
